The first leg of the route starts in Termini Station.
All along you can visit the Palazzo Massimo alle Terme, seat of the National Roman Museum, the Baths of Diocletian, and the Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli.

In the heart of the city you will admire the Vittoriano, the Campidoglio with Michelangelo's "border"> the Church of Santa Maria dell'Ara Coeli, Palazzo Venezia and Palazzo delle Assicurazioni.
As you go along Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, you will come across the Torre Argentina archaeological area and the Church of Sant' Andrea della Valle.

This stage covers Flavius' Amphitheatre, known as the Colosseum because the colossal 35 meter high gilded bronze statue of Nero once stood nearby.
Along the way you will also see the Domus Aurea, the Arch of Constantine, the Circus Maximus, and the Frangipane Tower.

Along Viale delle Terme di Caracalla you come trough the magnificent ruins of the ancient thermae, the Church of SS. Nereo and Achilleo and the Church of St. Sisto.
From 1938 to 2000 the Calidarium area has been a charming seat for summer concerts and performances by the Opera House.

From Piazzale Numa Pompilio long the Via Porta San Sebastiano, you will find out the Casina del Cardinal Bessarione, the Church of St. Cesareo, the Arch of Druso, The Museum of the Walls within the Porta of St. Sebastiano.
Originally known as Porta Appia, it was renamed during Christian age, rebuilt by Onorio and restored by Belisarius in 400 AD.

From Porta St. Sebastiano through the first part of Via Appia Antica, to the crossroad with Via Ardeatina.
The seat of the Foundation was established in the former Latina Paper Mill, in the nearby of the Tomba di Geta and the Sepolcro di Priscilla.

Along the route of Via Appia Antica, a side road on the left leads you to Via della Caffarella where you will admire the Edicola of Cardinal Reginald Pole, the Sepulchre of Annia Regilla and the Temple of the god Reticolo.
During the Middle Ages the Valley was named Vallis Marmorea (Valley of Marble) due to the plethora of ancient buildings scattered throughout.

From Via della Caffarella down the route of Via Appia Antica to the crossroad with Via Appia Pignatelli: in the nearby are the Colombarium of Liberti and the Catacombs of Pretextatus.
The Catacombs of St. Callisto were re-discovered in 1849 and are spread over 10 square km.

St. Sebastiano was buried in the Catacombs, a victim of Diocletian's persecutions; in the crypt of the Saint you can admire a bust attibuted to Bernini.

La Chiesa di Satn'Urbano è un antico edificio ritenuto il Tempio di Cerere e Faustina, trasformato nella chiesa di Sant'Urbano nel IX-X sec. The Church of Sant'Urbano is an antique building which was thought to be the Temple of Cerere and Faustina; it was transformed into the Church of St. Urbano in 9th-10th century.

Inside the portico of the Church of Santa Maria in Cosmedin you will find the ancient mask known as Bocca della Verità (Mouth of Truth). According to a popular belief, it could bite off the hand of any liar.
In the vicinity there are also the Temple of Fortuna Virilis, Theatre of Marcellus, and the Church of San Nicola in Carcere.

The tour ends back at the starting point in Piazza dei Cinquecento, so called because of the 500 Italian soldiers who died in the battle of Dogali, Eritrea, in 1887.
Before this stop you can see part of the ruins of the Mura Serviane, attributed to the penultimate King of Rome, Servius Tullius, which were restored in the 4th century B.C.
